Price $265 per child all materials included

These classes focus on drawing and painting with a little mixed media.  The students have the chance to explore with a range of materials so that they become adept with the tools in an artist's studio.  The young artists will also learn about different techniques that artists use to achieve a masterpiece.  The teaching of line, shape, form, and the work of other artists will be mixed in.  Most importantly, we will have a lot of FUN.  All levels are welcome.  Please email me with questions or if you would like to sign a your child up (theredbowstudio at gmail dot com). Mommy/Daddy and Me Mondays 10-10:45am

Session 1: Sept 18, 25, Oct 2, 16, 23

Session 2: Oct 30 Nov 6, 13, 27 Dec 4

Cost $125 per child per session includes all materials

Spend time with your child creating art in an artists studio.  You and your child will work with a various group of media to create different collaborative works.  We might paint with watercolors, collage with a glue stick, practice making holes with a hole punch, and many other fun activities.  The bonus is you can go home to a clean house (depending on how you left it of course!).

Summer Morning Mini-Camp 2017

Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays from 9:30AM to 12 Noon

COST: $175 Per week includes all materials.

During the summer morning camp we will focus on a single area of art and create artwork portraying what we have learned.  These classes are for children ages 6-10 (possibly 5) who are serious about their artwork and would like to spend their mornings creating in an intimate studio setting with friends.  We will be learning techniques and skills in each area that they will be able to use beyond the class, all while having lots of fun.  Sign ups are per week and your child may attend as many or few weeks as you like (as long as they are not full).  If you are interested, please email me and I will send you a sign up form (theredbowstudio at gmail.com).  There is a $50 deposit per student to reserve a space per class.  If you have any questions, please call or email me!  There must be at least 4 children enrolled for a class to run.

WEEK 1 Collage Workshop June 27,28 &29

In week one we will spend our time cutting with scissors and creating collages with Mod Podge.  We will decorate a cigar box and other goodies to hang on the wall- both lovely items to spruce up any room in your house!

Week 2 Bookmaking August 1,2&3

In week two we will work with simple types of bookmaking, creating different small books inspired by stories in our everyday lives.  Our creations will include a stab stitch book and an accordion book which we will fill with paintings and collages.

Week 3 Paint A Canvas August 8,9&10

In week three we will work with acrylics to paint a canvas. On the first day we will develop and sketch out our ideas and draw them onto our canvas.  The second and third days will be spent working with the acrylic paints, focusing on color and form.  If there is time, we will work on more than one painting.

Week 4 Printmaking August 15,16, &17

In the last week of mini-camp we will learn about printing with foam, plastic stamps and stencils.  On the first day we will work with brayers and stamps to create simple prints.  The other days the campers will create their own designs on foam and print them onto paper and canvases.
